Tesia Clearinghouse, LLC Receives EHNAC Healthcare Network Accreditation

GlobeNewswire

INDIANAPOLIS, April 3, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- As security and privacy standards continue to be a priority throughout the healthcare industry, Tesia Clearinghouse is setting the standard in ensuring its data and electronic claims infrastructure has adhered to national requirements. This month, the company received full accreditation with the Healthcare Network Accreditation Program (HNAP) from the Electronic Healthcare Network Accreditation Commission (EHNAC).

The accreditation recognizes excellence in health data processing and transactions and ensures compliance with industry-established standards and HIPAA regulations.

Through the consultative review process, EHNAC evaluated Tesia Clearinghouse in areas of privacy measures, systems availability and security infrastructure. In addition, EHNAC reviewed the organization's process of managing and transferring protected health information and determined that the organization meets or exceeds all EHNAC criteria and industry standards. Through completion of the rigorous accreditation process, Tesia Clearinghouse demonstrated to its constituents adherence to strict standards and participation in the comprehensive, objective evaluation of its business.

"At a time of heightened regulatory concerns, it is responsible healthcare organizations such as Tesia Clearinghouse that we applaud for taking the extra steps to ensure trust with all their stakeholders and customers that they're adhering to the latest standards in privacy, security and confidentiality," said Lee Barrett, executive director of EHNAC. "In order to earn this accreditation, organizations are required to demonstrate excellence and a commitment to ensuring the security and privacy of health data processing and transactions for their customers."

Tesia Clearinghouse, LLC, one of the largest dental clearinghouses in the country and a leader in real-time claims processing, is a subsidiary of Renaissance Electronic Services (RES), which is part of the Renaissance Health Service Corporation (RHSC) family of companies.

"The amount of data and electronic claims transactions that go through our system is substantial," said Eric Kirnbauer, COO of Tesia Clearinghouse. "Each year, we typically handle more than 40 million claims. With this amount of data, it's essential that we practice the highest level of security and privacy standards for our customers. That's why we chose to become accredited with EHNAC."
