The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) intends to award a sole source purchase order to Gartner, Inc for IT research and advisory services with respect to architecture and technical implementation specifically in the areas of Application Platforms, Collaboration and Content Technologies, Data Center, Identity and Access, Networks and Telecommunications, Information Security, and Enterprise Architecture.

The Agency requires services in these specific areas of technology that include timely published research and best practices; briefings on current research; dialogues with analysts who author this material; a body of reference material that defines and describes in detail the various technologies that the aforementioned IT areas comprise; and a web-based IT architecture decision support capability to assist in the selection of technologies and technology configuration options, based on the enterprise s conditions and preferences.

Unlike other IT research and advisory services, Gartner, Inc provides material not only at a high, strategic level but which also addresses quite technical and detailed facets of practical implementation targeted toward technical IT implementation professionals, particularly in the specific areas of data center management, cloud computing, networks and telecom, collaboration and content, identity and privacy, security and risk management, data management, and enterprise architecture. Additionally, the other sources do not provide an on-line encyclopedia-like reference and IT architectural decision-support tool like the Reference Architecture tool provided by Burton Group.

In accordance with FAR 6.302-1, Only One responsible source and no other supplies or services satisfy the Agency's requirements. Notwithstanding, any firm who believes it is capable of meeting EPA's requirement as stated herein may submit a response, which if received within 10 calendar days of the date of this announcement, will be considered. Responses to this posting must be in writing.
