Seccuris founder Michael Legary honored in the book “A Profile of Community Leadership”

PR Web

Winnipeg, MB (PRWEB) June 30, 2014

Leadership Winnipeg just published Volume IV of its prestigious "A Profile of Community Leadership" book series entitled "Inspire, Influence, Invest." This annual release features prominent leaders in the capital of Manitoba who have impacted the city. Seccuris is honored to announce that its founder and Chief Strategy Officer, Michael Legary, is one of the leaders included this year.

"A Profile of Community Leadership" is released annually by students of Leadership Winnipeg, a civic educational program designed to shape tomorrow's leaders by providing experiences that inspire and help individuals to develop an understanding of themselves, their community, and their role in it. For the book, students choose local leaders based on their involvement and influence on Winnipeg, its businesses, and citizens.

Michael Legary, a recipient of the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year award for the Prairies region in the Technology category, was selected not only because of his leadership duties at Seccuris, a leading security consulting, risk management, and managed security services firm, but also because he is Chairman of StartUp Winnipeg, a non-profit private industry group focused on developing new businesses within Canada. The organization is dedicated to providing startup incubation, executive mentorship, and 24x7 hands-on access to fabrication and prototyping equipment to startups, young entrepreneurs, inventors, artists, and innovators in order to grow scalable, international businesses.

"I'm honored to be included among a group of such esteemed colleagues," said Mr. Legary. "The concept of community is incredibly important to me. Leadership is all about being able to assess the community's desires and needs. Once leaders have an accurate picture of this context, they can show others what they never thought they ever could be."

The 32 leaders profiled in "Inspire, Influence, Invest" were recognized at the official book launch on June 18 at the Tapastry Restaurant, Niakwa Golf and Country Club, in Winnipeg. For more about the book and to order a copy, visit http://bit.ly/1rvHyM9.
