SGI Global Acquires Advanced Weapons Training International

SGI Global, an international security and training solutions firm, announced the acquisition of Advanced Weapons Training International (AWTI).
AWTI is a company with over two decades of performance in special operations training and client-customized international security consulting engagements. SGI and AWTI have successfully partnered on contracts since 2010.
According to a release, the acquisition will expand SGI's operational and training capabilities in the areas of security risk management and personnel recovery. SGI is a small business that provides specialized law enforcement, military and private sector operational and intelligence training and support that includes niche areas such as counter-threat finance and anti-money laundering/ Bank Secrecy Act training and compliance. The acquisition enables the SGI/AWTI team to offer clients Tier 1 driving and weapons training, personnel recovery, executive protection and other specialized tactical training and support. The acquisition also broadens SGI's capacity to perform corporate, personnel, facility and supply-chain vulnerability assessments.
"This acquisition strengthens both our asset base and our training portfolio," said Michael Braun, SGI Managing Partner. "We now have a broader platform from which we can provide additional value to our clients' critically important mission requirements."
