Quicken Loans Donates Professional Attire to Benefit JacketsforJobs.org

In an effort to help Detroit-area adults make an impression on job interviews, Quicken Loans Inc., collected donations of business clothing to benefit Jackets for Jobs, a non-profit agency providing interview-appropriate attire, job retention support and more to low-income adults seeking employment.

“The Detroit area is rich with talented and dedicated folks who are ready to work and contribute, but some have fallen on hard times in today’s difficult economic conditions,” said Wendy Kemp, Director of Community Relations at Quicken Loans. “We want to help job seekers dress for success by providing business clothing that gives them an extra boost of confidence when speaking with a prospective employer.”

Quicken Loans, the 50-state lender of purchase and refinance mortgages, encouraged team members to donate ready-to-wear business attire, including spring and summer women’s and men’s suits, shirts, blouses, dresses, pants, dress shoes and new hosiery. In addition, accessories such as briefcases were also collected.

Since its inception in 2000, Jacket for Jobs has assisted more than 10,000 individuals, and has been recognized by Donald Trump, ABC’s "The "View,” NBC’s "Today Show,” Oprah's O Magazine, as well as numerous Michigan magazines and newspapers.
