Police: Woman rams car into Rock Hill apartment after fight with girlfriend

April 30--ROCK HILL -- Police arrested a Rock Hill woman who they say rammed her car into the side of an apartment complex building after an argument with her girlfriend before she left and went to the hospital on Tuesday, according to a Rock Hill police report.

Officers were sent to the Paces River apartment complex at about 10 p.m. after receiving calls about an accident, the report states. A tenant told officers he overheard two people arguing in the parking lot before there was a loud crash. When he walked out of the complex's gym, he noticed the corner of the building had been damaged.

Police found three hubcaps and part of a bumper near bushes that had also apparently been run over. Officers found a black Pontiac Grand Prix with damage, but could not find the owner. After finding a bill of sale, they identified the car owner as Terrica Engram, 21. Engram's girlfriend, 19, told police they were arguing in front of the building after noticing a white car following them earlier. Engram, the report states, got into her car, drove over the bushes and hit the building. Engram did not want her girlfriend's help so her girlfriend left the scene.

Officers were later dispatched to Piedmont Medical Center after receiving word that Engram was there seeking treatment, the report states. Engram told officers that a white car had been chasing her and bumped her car into the building. Police arrested Engram, charging her with leaving the scene of an accident, no proof of insurance and failure to register within 45 days. She caused an estimate $5,000 in damage to the apartment building wall, police said.
