Hit and run

COAL TOWNSHIP - Dennis Nolter, 39, of 1712 Tioga St., Coal Township, told police his 2010 Chevy Cobalt sustained damage to its driver's side mirror assembly and rear quarter panel in a hit-and- run accident that occurred between 3 p.m. Saturday and 3:30 p.m. Sunday in front of his residence.

Anyone with information about the accident should call Coal Township police at 644-0333.

Underage drinking

SHAMOKIN - A 17-year-old Berwick male was cited by Patrolman Raymond Siko II for underage drinking, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct involving a fight at 11:50 p.m. Saturday at Independence and Anthracite streets.

Disorderly conduct

SHAMOKIN - Patricia J. Parker, 46, of 325 N. Shamokin St., Apt. 1, Shamokin, was cited by Patrolman Raymond Siko II for disorderly conduct and harassment for allegedly shoving and grabbing Alan Holmes, of the same address, at 5:48 p.m. Thursday at their apartment.

Police said Holmes suffered scratches on his neck in the incident.

Barn a total loss

POTTS GROVE - A barn in East Chillisquaque Township was ruled a total loss after it was quickly destroyed by fire late Monday.

The fire broke out at 10:14 p.m. at a barn at 1769 Creek Road owned by William S. Clewell, 52, and located one mile north of Route 642 and 4 1/2 miles southeast of Milton.

Estimated damage is $250,000, according to a report issued by Trooper Norman Fedder, fire marshal of state police at Milton.

Fedder noted that winds caused the fire to spread fast.

The report stated the cause and point of origin remain undetermined due to extensive damage and the fact that at least two possible causes could not be ruled out.

Clewell has insurance to cover his losses, the report stated.
