Plymouth Rock Assurance Touts Success of Free eReminder Service
BOSTON, MA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 10/13/09 -- Plymouth Rock Assurance, a leading New England auto insurance company, today announced that more than 16,000 Massachusetts drivers have taken advantage of its free eReminders service. The eReminders service, launched in April 2008, offers all Massachusetts drivers, even those not insured by Plymouth Rock, the opportunity to receive free email reminders 30 days before their license or registration expires or their annual automobile inspection is due.
Plymouth Rock's free eReminders service is a convenient and simple way to remember these important dates and helps Massachusetts drivers avoid significant inconvenience and expense if they fail to timely renew their license or registration or fail to have their cars inspected on time. For example, driving with an expired inspection sticker results in a fine and may also result in an insurance premium surcharge that stays in effect for several years.
Since the program's inception in 2008, the number of Massachusetts drivers signing up for the free reminders has steadily climbed. The combination of a sign up process that takes less than a minute and a service open to all Massachusetts drivers, regardless of whether they are Plymouth Rock customers, has made the eReminder service a popular offering in Plymouth Rock's MYLES (Make Your Life Easier) suite of services. Thousands of Massachusetts drivers have already received email notifications and have avoided fines and increased insurance costs as a result of taking care of renewals on time.
"Participants thank us for providing a convenient way for them to remember these important dates," said Chris Olie, President of Plymouth Rock. "We are happy to provide the drivers of Massachusetts with more than just insurance through a friendly nudge when it's time to renew a driver's license, vehicle registration and have a car inspected. Ultimately, the MYLES eReminder Service can make the life of every Massachusetts driver a little easier."
Although the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles has just reintroduced a driver's license reminder program, Plymouth Rock's MYLES eReminder Service provides additional benefits by also reminding drivers by email when it's time to renew their car registration and have their vehicle inspection sticker updated. Any Massachusetts driver can sign up for the MYLES eReminder Service by visiting plymouthrock.com. All that is required to enroll is a valid Massachusetts driver's license and an email address.
