Aug. 15--Riney Hancock CPAs of Owensboro has made two promotions and hired two new accountants.

Carla J. Dowell, CPA, has been promoted to senior manager in the Audit and Assurance Division.

She joined Riney Hancock in 1996. Prior to that, she spent seven years in public accounting with a large regional CPA firm. She has extensive experience with nonprofit, governmental organizations and retirement plan auditing.

Dowell is a graduate of Indiana State University with a bachelor of science degree in accounting. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Kentucky Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Indiana CPA Society.

Andrea N. Haynes has been promoted to controller. She joined the firm in 2008 as an accountant in the Administrative Services Division. She is a graduate of Brescia University with a bachelor of science degree in accounting

Wesley J. Hamilton, CPA, has joined the firm as a Staff II accountant in the Tax Services and Assurance Services Divisions.

Prior to joining the firm, Hamilton worked with a national CPA firm in Bowling Green.

Hamilton received a bachelor of science degree in accounting from Lindsey Wilson College. He is also a member of the Kentucky Society of Certified Public Accountants and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Kristen M. Chinn has joined the firm's Owensboro office as a staff accountant in the Administrative Services Division.

Chinn is a graduate of Kentucky Wesleyan College with a bachelor of science degree in accounting.

Cathy Martin has joined Edward Jones Financial Advisor Bill Hughes' Owensboro office.

Martin has 14 years of experience in the financial services industry.

Edward Jones, headquartered in St. Louis, provides financial services for individual investors in the United States and, through its affiliate, in Canada.

Brian Kuester has been hired by Breck Logistics of Evansville as an account/business development manager and a transport-ation broker.

He previously was employed as a business analyst with Target Corp. in Minneapolis.

Kuester is a 2008 graduate of Indiana University.

Zach Wells has joined Hafer Associates' Owensboro office as a new architect.

Wells is a 2010 graduate from Ohio State University with a master's degree in architecture and is a 2006 Murray State University graduate with a bachelor of science degree in architectural and engineering technology.

A native of Owensboro, he was previously employed with Ohio State University as a graduate teaching associate in the Knowlton School of Architecture.

Gary Boswell of Owensboro is one of eight farmers nominated to fill four board of director positions at Farm Credit Services of Mid-America (FCS).

Boswell owns 3,700 acres of cropland, timberland and recreation land in Daviess, Logan and Henderson counties. He also is president and CEO of Temporary Professionals Inc., a temporary help business he has owned for 25 years.

He is a graduate of Daviess County High School and has a degree in accounting from Owensboro Business College.

The board comprises 16 elected directors -- four from each state that the association serves. Two independent directors also serve on the board. They meet monthly to set policy and provide overall direction for the association. Board terms are generally four years.

The cooperative's 58,000 voting stockholders will be casting ballots from mid-September to mid-October.

FCS is one of the largest agriculture lending cooperatives in the nation serving farmers and agribusinesses throughout Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana and Tennessee.
