Sept. 26--LAYTON -- Viewmont put together its best offensive performance of the season at Layton's expense Thursday, winning 5-0.

Viewmont entered the game averaging just 1.5 goals per game, the fewest in Region 1.

"It was good to get more than a couple of goals," Viewmont coach Spencer Keddington said. "It's really the first time we've done that."

Karrie Pead and Tori Page each scored a pair of goals while Caroline Brown added another.

Rachel Pitt earned the shutout.

CLEARFIELD 2, EAST 0: At Salt Lake City, Afton Barlow and Brinley Adams connected within five minutes of each other late in the second half and Clearfield took over first place in Region 6 with a 2-0 victory over East Thursday.

Clearfield (11-2-0, 9-2-0 Region 6) also avenged an earlier home loss to East with the victory.

"I think they just realized their goal is to win region," Clearfield coach Lauren Clifford said. "We had to beat East."

OGDEN 3, ROY 0: At Ogden, Jaimee Hanson scored twice in the first half, goalkeeper Amanda Hill saved a penalty kick and then turned it into an assist on the other end and Ogden snapped a three-game losing streak with a 3-0 win over Roy Thursday.

Rhyan Tafoya took the penalty kick for Roy late in the second half, but Hill stopped it. Hill then punted the ball downfield to Taylor Stokes who took it off a couple bounces before putting it into the back of the net.

"We played a lot better," Ogden coach Jason Steiner said. "A lot more intense."

WEBER 4, FREMONT 1: At Plain City, Weber used three second-half goals to defeat Fremont 4-1 Thursday.

Mylee Broad, Cassidy McCormick, Mckayla Thomas and Lauren Saunders all scored for Weber while Kinsley Napoli scored for Fremont.

WOODS CROSS 8, CYPRUS 0: At Magna, Kennedy Yost exploded for six goals and Woods Cross slammed Cyprus 8-0 Thursday.

With the six goals, the University of Oregon commit now has 24 this season.

Eden Jacobsen added a pair of goals while Rachel Noel and Presley Sudbury split the shutout.

BONNEVILLE 2, SKY VIEW 0: At Washington Terrace, Hannah Shore scored in the first half, Katelyn Hancock added an insurance goal in the second and Bonneville won its third straight with a 2-0 victory over Sky View Thursday.

Sydney Christensen earned the shutout.

Bonneville has outscored its last three opponents by a combined margin of 8-1.

BOUNTIFUL 3, JUDGE MEMORIAL 1: At Bountiful, Amy Chidester scored twice, Sophia Skedros added another goal and Bountiful defeated Judge Memorial 3-1 Thursday.

Emily Garcia scored Judge Memorial's lone goal.

NORTHRIDGE 2, SYRACUSE 0: At Layton, Tawnie Fitzgerald and Courtney Wayment each scored, Josie Manwill picked up a rare assist and Northridge blanked Syracuse 2-0 Thursday.

Manwill, who earned the shutout, assisted on Wayment's second-half goal.

Sylvie Call assisted on Fitzgerald's goal.

ST. JOSEPH 4, LAYTON CHRISTIAN 0: At Ogden, Kate Weil scored twice, freshman Jessica Tobi scored her first career goal and St. Joseph blanked Layton Christian 4-0 Thursday.

Chloe Bokinskie also scored for St. Joseph, which snapped a four-game losing streak.

Ali Kohler earned the shutout.

BEAR RIVER 4, MALAD-IDAHO 0: At Malad, Whitney Wilcox scored twice and Bear River defeated Malad 4-0 Thursday.

Shaena Oyler and Kylie Hayman also scored for Bear River, which defeated Malad for the second time this season.

"(Their coach) was looking for games to fill in their schedule and the bye week actually worked out well for us," Bear River coach Gene Wilcox said. "I really like the girls on a two-game a week schedule so they're in sync. It worked out good for us to keep us in that schedule."

BOX ELDER 3, LOGAN 0: At Brigham City, Paige Stevens and Sadie Munns each scored in the first half and Box Elder shut out Logan 3-0 Thursday.

Sydney Uyematsu also scored for Box Elder.

BEN LOMOND 4, TOOELE 0: At Ogden, Kat Selvera scored twice, Kali Moss and Baylee Roche each added goals and Ben Lomond powered past Tooele 4-0 Thursday.

Summer Yazzie earned the shutout.
