Online Professional, EPL, and D&O Liability Insurance Continuing Education Program Launched by IRMI

DALLAS — June 8, 2009 - International Risk Management Institute, Inc. (IRMI), has developed a new continuing education program and certification for insurance agents, brokers, and risk managers or insurance buyers who sell or buy professional liability or errors and omissions liability insurance or the specialized lines of insurance often called “management liability” insurance or “executive liability” insurance. These lines of insurance include employment practices liability, directors and officers liability, and fiduciary liability insurance.
The Management Liability Insurance Specialist (MLIS™) continuing education program provides specialized expertise in the fundamentals of professional liability insurance and the more specific nuances of D&O liability, employment practices liability, and fiduciary liability exposures and insurance. The MLIS curriculum consists of seven courses, presented entirely online at MLIS-CE.com . Those who complete the program are entitled to display the MLIS certification to show their knowledge of management liability insurance. Risk managers who earn the MLIS certification should enjoy increased confidence from the corporate executives who depend on them to cover their personal assets. Similarly, the program also establishes an agent’s competence to arrange these specialized lines of insurance on behalf of their clients and prospects. Additionally, insurance CE credit is available for course completers in most states.
“We developed the MLIS program specifically for retail insurance agents/brokers and buyers of management and professional liability insurance,” said Jack P. Gibson, IRMI president. “This focus on the perspectives of these two groups helped us keep the courses to a less intimidating length. Also, we split the program into two parts, one focusing on professional, E&O, and D&O liability insurance fundamentals and the other part delving into more complex management or executive liability insurance issues. This allows participants to choose just how deep they wish to dive into the subject matter.”
With an introductory rate of $69 per course, the MLIS program is quite affordable, and, for $15 more per course, insurance CE credit is also available in many states. This allows agents and brokers to leverage a nominal CE investment into both a certification and state CE credit. The self-paced courses and their final exams may be taken from any computer with Internet access via the state-of-the-art WebCE delivery platform.
