ORBA Names New Directors

CHICAGO, July 24, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Ostrow Reisin Berk & Abrams, Ltd. (ORBA), one of Chicago's largest accounting firms, is proud to announce that Greg Koelling, CPA, and Brandon Vahl, CPA, CFE have been elected as Directors, effective July 1.

Greg Koelling, CPA, Chair of the firm's Health Care Group and State and Local Tax Groups, focuses his practice on privately-held corporations, individuals, partnerships and contractors in a number of industry sectors including health care, real estate development, manufacturing and distribution, and professional service businesses. Greg specializes in state tax planning and compliance strategies for multi-state businesses and represents taxpayers in front of the Internal Revenue Service and state taxing authorities. He also assists clients in the health care field with tax planning, compensation methods and strategic assistance with mergers and acquisitions.  He is currently a member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Illinois CPA Society, National CPA Health Care Advisors Association, BKR International Medical Practices and Health Care Practice Group and the BKR International State and Local Tax Committee.  Mr. Koelling received his B.S. in Accounting from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Brandon W. Vahl, CPA, CFE has extensive experience serving individuals, partnerships and privately-held corporations, including technology companies, professional service providers, manufacturers and distributors, restaurateurs and non-profit organizations.  He provides guidance on  various business and  tax matters for the clients he serves, and assists clients with entity formation planning and structuring, tax planning for corporations and the individuals who own them, analysis of financial statements, fraud examinations, tax and GAAP research, and providing accounting training and support to closely-held businesses. Mr. Vahl is currently a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Illinois CPA Society and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.  He received his B.A. in Accounting from Augustana College.
