OMD Taps Trish Chuipek to Head Midwest Region
In a move that demonstrates its commitment to delivering enhanced marketing ROI to its clients, Omnicom Media Group agency OMD has tapped Trish Chuipek for the newly created Managing Director, Midwest, position, overseeing the Chicago office of the global media powerhouse. Chuipek joins OMD following an eight-year stint as Managing Director of the Chicago office of Ogilvy and Mather's direct and interactive network OgilvyOne, where her ability to leverage advanced analytics to drive marketing ROI fueled a 20-fold increase in revenue during her tenure.
Accounts serviced by OMD's Midwest regional office include McDonald's, State Farm, H&R Block, Intel and J.C. Penney.
Chuipek succeeds Regional Director Craig Atkinson, who is moving up into a new role as Chief of Acquisition for the North American division of OMD parent company Omnicom Media Group. Atkinson will also maintain his leadership role on the McDonald's account.
Having begun her marketing career as the first female US sales representative for LEGO Systems, Inc., advancing to the position of US Brand Manager, Chuipek credits this early experience with imprinting a career-long understanding and appreciation of clients' issues and priorities--a perspective that has become all the more valuable in an increasingly ROI-centric environment. Leading integrated teams across a client roster that over the years has included Allstate, American Family Insurance, American Medical Association, British Petroleum, Chicago2016, Computer Discount Warehouse, Kaplan, Kraft, Oscar Mayer, Suave and Zurich, Chuipek has developed innovative brand and business-building solutions for an analytics- and insight-ascendant age.
Prior to joining OgilvyOne, Chuipek held the EVP, Director of Client Services, title at Rapp and at Lowe.
Describing the choice of Chuipek as both "exciting and inspired," OMD US CEO Alan Cohen explains, "Trish impressed us because her experience diverges somewhat from the standard media trajectory--and that is also what makes her an inspired choice for OMD as we focus on moving media to the center of the marketing function, driving the strategies that position, launch and relaunch brands."
Chuipek echoes Cohen's migration mantra, saying, "In considering a new opportunity, the critical question for me is not only whether the vision of an organization is attuned to what clients want today, but the degree to which it can anticipate and define the demand for tomorrow. By delivering a higher level of research, insights and understanding about consumers, OMD is the agency that is defining the need and driving innovation in our industry, and I am very excited to be playing a role in that effort."
Chuipek takes on her new responsibilities June 14.
