NewStar Business Credit Names Joe Kinkenon Executive Vice President and Chief Credit Officer

NewStar Business Credit, a division of NewStar Financial, Inc. announced today that it has named Joe Kinkenon as executive vice president and chief credit officer. Kinkenon will be responsible for all portfolio and credit functions for the division.

NewStar from Regions Bank and has more than 25 years of experience in commercial finance and asset-based lending ("ABL"). Prior to Regions Bank, he was employed by GE Capital where he served in a number of roles including director of Credit and VP of Operations-ABL. His risk management responsibilities included leading the underwriting team for several portfolios and managing the risk rating, loan structuring and documentation process, as well as portfolio review. As VP of Operations-ABL, he also led the ABL portfolio management function, including loan development, structuring and documentation. Previously, he held several senior credit management positions with Bank of America.

As a member of the senior management team, Kinkenon will report to Michael Haddad, president, who commented, "We are thrilled to have someone with Joe's breadth and depth of experience joining us.
