MedicScan, powered by Acuant, to Exhibit at the 2014 eClinicalWorks National Users Conference in Orlando

PR Web

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) October 16, 2014

Acuant, formerly known as Card Scanning Solutions Inc., will be exhibiting its premier Healthcare solution, MedicScan®, at the 2014 eClinicalWorks® National Users Conference. With over 5,000 attendees, this regional event will be held in Orlando, Florida at the Orlando World Center Marriott from the 17th to the 20th of October 2014. Exhibiting at Booth 201, Acuant will demonstrate their MedicScan® technology which has been integrated into the eClinicalWorks system. By eliminating the need to manually capture identification and medical insurance information from patient ID cards and medical insurance cards, the patient registration process is streamlined resulting in less human errors, greater efficiency, reduced costs and more time to connect directly with patients.

As a privately-held leader in ambulatory clinical solutions, eClinicalWorks focuses on providing comprehensive practice management and electronic health record (EHR) solutions to all segments within the health industry, from large to solo practices, regardless of specialty. The core focus of eClinicalWorks is to provide solutions which are geared to increasing the accuracy, efficiency and security within the healthcare industry. Recognized as an award winning company in the electronic medical records field and being named in the Inc. 5000 for the past six consecutive years, eClinicalWorks is headquartered in Westborough, MA, with additional offices in Chicago, New York City, California and Georgia.

With the integration of the eClinicalWorks technology with Acuant's MedicScan® software, eClinicalWorks users have a competitive edge in the extraction, processing and storage of medical information and patient registration Acuant's patented technologies assist medical practices in transforming unstructured customer data into useful and easily-accessible information. Utilizing Acuant's cutting edge technology-driven process, patient data intake from driver's licenses and medical insurance cards is automated and can be captured using any device including mobile phones and tablets. This data is then auto-populated within the eClinicalWorks patient registration pages thereby reducing errors and providing staff with more time to focus on improving the patient experience. Ongoing data management can then also be maximized through Acuant's automated validation, authentication and integrated solutions and patient demographics while medical records can be linked to insurance, billing, and claims data.

With Acuant's comprehensive SDK (Software Developer Kit), eClinicalWorks has been able to incorporate this identity technology directly into their existing software application with ease. Utilizing Acuant's hardware solutions including the ScanShell® and SnapShell® scanners, card images are quickly captured while the MedicScan® software then extracts the relevant data and instantly inputs into the eClinicalWorks system. The Acuant hardware solutions provides users with a choice of duplex scanners that have a small-footprint with up to 600 dpi scanning resolution for sharp and clear images. The scanners also connect through a USB port and so no external power supply is required. With zero warm-up and wait time, the automatic card-feed detection mechanism will trigger the scan automatically creating a streamlined and efficient data input process.

With the integration of the eClinicalWorks technology with Acuant's MedicScan® solutions, eClinicalWorks® users are afforded the many benefits of accurate patient data automation. The 2014 eClinicalWorks® National Users Conference in Orlando, Florida will provide attendees with the opportunity to learn more about the latest eClinicalWorks solutions and how you can create an environment that offers superior patient care.
