MedSolutions Selects DataFlux for Master Data Management
CARY, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- DataFlux, a leading provider of data quality and data integration solutions, today announced that MedSolutions, a provider of medical cost management services, has selected DataFlux® technology for its master data management (MDM) program. MedSolutions will use DataFlux solutions to analyze its facilities records and create a master data repository that will be used to better manage these records.
MedSolutions collects a large amount of information on the many medical facilities they recommend for patients and insurers. Before turning to DataFlux, MedSolutions manually sorted and added the “facilities data†to its database, which proved to be time-consuming and costly. With increasingly tough compliance standards to follow and the flood of data that resulted from insurer mergers and acquisitions, the company knew it had to create and maintain an accurate, single, complete set of facilities data as quickly as possible.
To better handle the management of incoming data, MedSolutions selected DataFlux Enterprise Integration Server and DataFlux dfPower Studio. The technology cleanses and standardizes existing facility records in MedSolutions’ database in order to help identify records that can be stored as master data. By installing DataFlux solutions, MedSolutions was able to swiftly identify and remove duplicate and flawed facilities records. This created a repository of master data that complemented MedSolutions’ long-term data strategy and freed up resources for other projects that are critical to the company’s success.
“MedSolutions focuses on leveraging data, technology and expertise to deliver the best service and value to patients and payors, something we call Intelligent Cost Management.†said Patrick McGrath, director of application delivery for MedSolutions. “We performed extensive research to evaluate solutions for healthcare data management. The DataFlux application has exceeded our expectations and far surpasses other offerings with its ability to support ongoing data accuracy.â€
Following the deployment of the DataFlux technology, MedSolutions has seen a significant reduction in the effort required to manage intake operations and outbound authorizations, as well as claims processing, fee-schedule management, reporting, network development and assessment processes.
“MedSolutions provides a unique service – looking out for the best interests of patients while lowering costs for insurance providers – and the facilities data they manage is constantly changing,†said Tony Fisher, president and CEO of DataFlux. “Our solutions help their staff – which includes nurses and physicians – remain focused on meeting patient and referring physician needs. With DataFlux technology, MedSolutions is able to streamline its operations and save time and money.â€
