Julian Macey-Dare was appointed international leader of the political risk and structured credit practice at Marsh Inc. in London.
According to Marsh, Macey-Dare will "drive new business opportunities" for its political risk and structured credit practice globally, outside the United States. He will also oversee the strategic development of the group's existing client base.
He will report to Roy White, who leads Marsh's financial and professional practice in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Macey-Dare, who began his career at Marsh, returns to the firm from Willis Group, where he was responsible for political risk and structured credit in the Americas. He had also previously worked for Jardine Lloyd Thompson.
"The range of political risk and structured credit issues facing firms internationally have been severely exacerbated by the global recession," said Evan Freely, global practice leader at Marsh's Political Risk and Trade Credit Group, in a statement. "As a result, more clients are seeking the protection that insurance cover can offer against discriminatory governmental actions and politically motivated violence that may have an adverse impact in their contracts, investments and financial performance."
