He completed the tests successfully and the deputy asked about the smell of marijuana, according to the report. He denied knowing anything about the smell.
A search found a total of 65 grams of marijuana, a scale, a box of plastic bags and a 9 mm semi-automatic handgun in the vehicle, the report said. The gun was loaded with seven rounds of ammunition.
After being arrested, Kurpil said the items belonged to him and that the majority of the marijuana was for personal use, according to the report. He would not elaborate.
He is charged with using or displaying a firearm during a felony, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, manufacture or deliver and possession or use of drug paraphernalia.
