Man assaults brother’s girlfriend

Oct. 01--George David Staten, 49, of Logan, was arrested by the West Virginia State Police on September 15 for assault, indecent exposure, battery and simple possession.

On September 14, Senior Trooper J.G. Honaker was advised by the victim that her boyfriend's brother, Staten, had come to her residence and assaulted her. Upon arrival, Honaker allegedly observed that the victim had a red mark on her chest. Honaker was reportedly able to obtain a hand written statement from the victim advising that Staten had come to her residence and exposed his genitals to her. She further advised that Staten came towards her and pushed her against a chair.

Honaker was able to locate Staten and allegedly located seceral bags on him that contained a green, leafy substance believed to be marijuana.

Staten's bail is set for $5,000.

In other Magistrate Court news:

-- Melvin Allen Smith, 33, was booked on Sept. 17 by the West Virginia State Police for no seat belt, defective equipment and drivers license revoked for DUI. His bail was set at $3,000.

-- Sandra Kay Hanks, 56, was booked on Sept. 18 by the WVSP for reckless driving, DUI (1ST offense) and failure to maintain control of vehicle. Her bail was set at $5,000.

-- Donald Eugene Meade, 47, was booked on Sept. 18 by the Logan County Sheriff's Department for DUI (2nd offense) and drivers license revoked for DUI. His bail was set at $5,000.

-- Hobert Lee Wooten, 58, was booked on Sept. 19 by the WVSP for destruction of property. His bail was set at $2,500.

-- Teddy Joe Robinson, 54, was booked on Sept. 19 by the WVSP for domestic battery and domestic assault. His bail was set at $2,500.

-- Tiffany Morgan Baisden, 34, was booked on Sept. 20 by the LCSD for possession of a controlled substance (Roxycodone). Her bail was set at $3,500.

-- Larry Kevin Richardson, 35, was booked on Sept. 21 by the Logan Police Department for petit larceny. His bail was set at $2,500.

-- Stephanie Faye Deaner, 41, was booked on Sept. 21 by the WVSP for obstructing and public intoxication. Her bail was set at $1,500.

-- Michael Paul Napier, 37, was booked on Sept. 22 by the WVSP for burglary, destruction of property, two counts of domestic battery and two counts of domestic assault. His bail was set at $7,500.

-- Ricky Wallace Justice, 23, was booked on Sept. 23 by the WVSP for conspiracy to commit a felony and cultivation of marijuana. His bail was set at $4,000.

-- Joscelyn Leanne Burgess, 22, was booked on Sept. 23 by the WVSP for cultivation of marijuana and conspiracy to commit a felony. Her bail was set at $4,000.

-- Angel Bonita Harmon, 21, was booked on Sept. 23 by the LCSD for shoplifting 2nd offense.

-- Chad Eric Smith, 31, was booked on Sept. 25 by the WVSP for failure to obey traffic control device (running a red light), driving on revoked license and DUI (1st offense). His bail was set at $3,500.

-- Richard Lee Kinser, 25, was booked on Sept. 26 by the WVSP for possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance. His bail was set at $15,000.

-- William Sam Hensley, 49, was booked on Sept. 26 by the WVSP for 3rd license suspend/ revoked for DUI, registration violation and no insurance. His bail was set at $10,000.
