Man arrested after evading police

April 08--ASHLAND -- The following information was taken from Ashland Police Department reports:

Fleeing, DUI

An Ashland man was arrested Sunday evening on a number of charges following a pursuit on 13th and Ramey streets.

Gordon D. Caudill, 40, of the 700 block of Gartrell Court, was lodged in the Boyd County Detention Center, charged with first-degree fleeing or evading police, third-offense DUI, speeding (26 mph over the speed limit) and operating on a suspended license. Police also served Caudill with outstanding warrants charging him with no insurance, no registration plate, operating on a suspended license, first-degree drug possession and contempt of court.

According to the APD, the pursuit occurred about 8:15 p.m. began after Officer Aaron Helms attempted to stop Caudill's vehicle.

Caudill remained in custody Monday.

Criminal mischief

Two residents of the 800 block of Montgomery Avenue on Saturday reported their vehicles -- a 2013 Ford Escape and a 2005 Jeep Cherokee -- had been vandalized, with an estimated $500 damage being done to each.

A couple living in the 2800 block of Cumberland Avenue on Saturday reported someone had done an estimated $600 damage to their 2007 Dodge Charger.

Stolen property

A man on Sunday reported a woman had traded him an iPhone she knew to be stolen for his iPad 2. The transaction took place at Kroger.
