MD Johnson, Inc. Advises Ralph Martinez On The Sale of Chrysler, Jeep, Hyundai, Fiat and Chevrolet Dealerships

PORTLAND, Ore., Oct. 30, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- MD Johnson, Inc. announces the completion of the sale of a portion of Town & Country dealerships in Milwaukie, Oregon outside of Portland. Brands sold include Chrysler, Jeep Fiat, Hyundai and Chevrolet dealerships on an automotive campus on McLoughlin Boulevard in suburban Portland. No sales price was disclosed.

Ralph Martinez retained and operates Town & Country Honda in Gladstone, Oregon 2 miles south of the dealerships being sold.

Martinez and his Town & Country brand has been a stalwart in the automobile industry in Portland for almost 30 years. Along the way Martinez has owned Nissan, Toyota, Kia, Isuzu, Oldsmobile, Lincoln Mercury, Ford, Mitsubishi, Dodge and Ram franchises in Portland, Seattle and Vancouver WA. Martinez, originally from New York, started in the automobile business with Chrysler after relocating from California to be the Chrysler Plymouth dealer on McLoughlin Blvd. in 1985.  Along with other accomplishments Town & Country dealerships were voted the number 1 large business to work for in Oregon in 2003. Martinez continues to operate Town & Country Honda along with his two sons Carlos and Christopher in Gladstone, Oregon.

Mark Johnson, President of MD Johnson, Inc represented Martinez in the transaction to well known automobile dealers Ted Moore and Bob Nouri. Johnson commented that Nouri and Moore recognized that Portland is a great, vibrant market and that Martinez had built a very well known brand.  They pursued the acquisition for almost a year. Martinez stated that "Mark spent a number of years working with myself and my family to create the right opportunity for me in a time when I had decided to change my life to be able to work one on one with my sons in one dealership. We are all very excited about working together under one roof for the first time."

Among other significant contributions made to Oregon and to Portland in particular, Mr. Martinez was appointed by Governor Kulongoski to SAIF the State Accident Insurance Fund board of directors and the Governors board of "Brand Oregon." Mr. Martinez was also the President of the Chrysler Minority Dealers Association and had also been active securing Chrysler Minority opportunities in the automobile business for others, his entire automotive career. Ralph and his wife of 32 years Carmen reside in Lake Oswego .
