Lynne F. Milligan [Intelligencer Journal (Lancaster, PA)]

Lynne F. Milligan, 74, of the Masonic Village at Elizabethtown passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2012. Her husband, Harold L. Milligan, died in 2010.

Formerly of Mount Joy, Lynne worked in the insurance industry all of her life, retiring in 2006 as a Customer Service Representative for E. K. McConkey Associates of York. Lynne then worked part-time for the Manheim Auto Auction until 2009. Previously, she was employed by the Hess Agency of Mount Joy, Wolf Strite Assocs. of Harrisburg, and the former Wiley Insurance Agency and H. Roy Nissley, both of Mount Joy. An active member of the Lancaster Co.Women's Insurance Assoc., Lynne served as president and also held several other offices and attended the State and National Conventions. She was a 1956 graduate of Donegal High School and attended Oberlin College, where she was one of the top three women to be certified as an Insurance Counselor in Commercial Lines. A 58- year member of Glossbrenner United Methodist Church of Mount Joy, she taught Sunday School for several years. Lynne enjoyed the outdoors and hunting and was a life member of the Big Chiques Archery Club. She also enjoyed reading and spending time at their family cabin in Shiloh, Clearfield County for the past 20 years.

Born in West Hempfield Township, she was the daughter of the late William H. and Margaret Frey Fackler.

Lynne will be missed by her two sons, Dwight R. Milligan of Lancaster and Kevin S. married to Sarah Grace Milligan of Elizabethtown; two grandsons, Christopher and Andrew; a sister, Margaret "Peggy" married to Fred Lahr of Mount Joy; and a brother, Dennis, married to Crystal Fackler of Elizabethtown. A brother, William W. Fackler, preceded her in death.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Lynne's Funeral at the Sheetz Funeral Home, Inc., 16 East Main St., Mount Joy on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at 11 AM. Interment to follow in Camp Hill Cemetery, Mount Joy. Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Wednesday morning from 10 until 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 314 Good Dr., Lancaster, PA 17603. Online condolences to www.sheetzfuneralhome.com
