Lincoln Financial Appoints Mitchell S. Avnet as Head of Enterprise Compliance & Ethics and Peter P. Feeley as Head of Business Law and Compliance

RADNOR, Pa., March 16, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Lincoln Financial Group (NYSE: LNC) today announced the appointment of Mitchell S. Avnet as Head of Enterprise Compliance & Ethics and Peter P. Feeley as Head of Business Law and Compliance.  The appointments are effective as of March 14, 2011.

Avnet comes to Lincoln from PNC Financial Services Group, Inc. where he most recently served as Chief Compliance Officer – Broker Dealer and Asset Management Group Oversight Programs.  Avnet is a career compliance risk management officer and brings approximately 18 years of relevant experience to his role.  He holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the State University of New York at Oneonta.

As Head of Enterprise Compliance & Ethics, Avnet will work with the company's senior-most executives and be responsible for enterprise-wide compliance, ensuring that the company complies with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations.

Feeley joins Lincoln Financial from The Prudential Insurance Company of America, where he most recently served as Chief Operations Officer / VP, Compliance for Law, Compliance and Business Ethics Department.  During his 21 years with Prudential, Feeley held positions of increasing responsibility and gained experience in many areas of the business.  Prior to joining the insurance industry, he was an attorney in private practice.  Feeley holds a Master of Science degree in Management from the New Jersey Institute of Technology, a Juris Doctor from Seton Hall University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science/Business Administration from Rutgers University.  

In his new role as Head of Business Law and Compliance, Feeley oversees and coordinates the legal aspects of major strategic issues/initiatives across the lines of business and is a key member of the Lincoln legal team.
