Legal & General Offers Mother’s Day Life Insurance [Professional Services Close – Up]

Last year research commissioned by Legal & General, a UK financial services company, estimated that the average value of a typical Mum, contributing to domestic work around the home, stood at over GBP32,000 a year, reports Legal & General.

Dads, in comparison, were valued at GBP21,036, some 34 percent lower than their wives. However despite the diligent work both parents put in, only 54 percent confessed to having a life insurance policy.

So with Mother's Day approaching, Legal & General said they are offering an unusual but nonetheless heartfelt gift for Mothers on Mothering Sunday: Life Insurance.

The Company noted that monetary value of a Mum is sometimes overlooked when families try and work out their life insurance needs. According to prior research, the average family spends GBP143 on children per week- that equates to GBP133,848 over 18 years.

Referring to the GBP133,848 average family spend figure estimated from last year's research: "If Mum was no longer alive, where is the money going to come from to pay for the domestic work and child- care she once provided?
