LIMRA, LOMA Name Kevin McWhinney to Head International Sales

WINDSOR, Conn., Feb. 22 -- LIMRA issued the following news release:

LIMRA and LOMA today announced Kevin McWhinney will join the organization as managing director of international partnerships.

"We are pleased to have Kevin lead our international field organization," said Gary Aluise, senior vice president and managing director, International Operations LIMRA, LOMA and LL Global, Inc. "Kevin's extensive experience and knowledge in Canada and Asia will be particularly valuable as we endeavor to reach our ambitious goal of doubling our business within seven years."

As head of the international field teams, McWhinney will be permanently based in Singapore and responsible for developing and overseeing LIMRA and LOMA's international sales force, building sales and membership in key markets throughout the world, and will report directly to Aluise.

McWhinney is an industry management professional with nearly 30 years experience in leading life insurance and wealth management teams across Asia and Canada, including tenures with London Life Insurance Company, National Life Insurance Company and Manulife Financial Asia Division. With expertise in sales, distribution, marketing, training and operations at country-wide and regional levels, McWhinney's most recent appointment was to the senior management executive team at Sun Life Hong Kong as chief distribution officer. There he led bancassurance, agency, brokerage and direct marketing sales channels and held overall responsibility for sales training and sales support functions. Prior to that position, he served as chief executive officer of Manulife's business in Malaysia.

McWhinney is a graduate of the University of Waterloo, Canada and holds professional designations of CLU, CH.F.C. and CFP. He also attained his LIMRA LLIF designation in 2001.
