Krysten McCabe of The Home Depot Appointed International Director of ISACA

ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill., June 10 -- The Information Systems Audit and Control Association issued the following news release:

ISACA, a global association serving 110,000 IT governance, assurance, risk and security professionals in 180 countries, announced its 2013-2014 Board of Directors at the INSIGHTS 2013 conference in Berlin today. Krysten McCabe, CISA, senior manager in the Assurance and Advisory Management Program at The Home Depot (USA), was appointed international director of ISACA for a second year.

Founded in 1969, ISACA develops international standards, frameworks and guidance to help enterprises maximize the value of their information and systems. ISACA administers the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT), and Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) designations. The association also developed and continually updates COBIT, the internationally accepted framework for governance and management of enterprise IT. The latest version, COBIT 5, was released last year.

"I am looking forward to participating on ISACA's board for a second year," said McCabe. "ISACA has a solid strategy for the upcoming years, which will greatly benefit its current and new members. I am excited to be a part of the implementation of the changes necessary to accomplish these goals."

At The Home Depot, McCabe is responsible for identifying, assessing and mitigating information technology risks in the areas of data security and privacy, IT governance, IT asset management, change control, computer operations and systems development. Additionally, she has oversight for planning and executing IT compliance and operational audits focused on evaluation of control effectiveness and identification of process improvement opportunities to gain efficiencies. Prior to joining The Home Depot in 2004, McCabe was an IT auditor at Ernst & Young LLP and an IT controls analyst at SunTrust Banks Inc. She has served as member of ISACA's Finance Committee and is currently a member of ISACA's Audit Committee.

In addition to McCabe, 10 other business and IT leaders were selected to serve on the 2013-2014 ISACA Board of Directors. Tony Hayes, CGEIT, AFCHSE, CHE, FACS, FCPA, FIAA, appointed Deputy Director-General of the Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability Services in the Queensland Government (Australia), was elected international president. Elected as international vice presidents were Allan Boardman, CISA, CISM, CGEIT, CRISC, ACA, CA (SA), CISSP, information risk manager at Morgan Stanley (UK); Juan Luis Carselle, CISA, CGEIT, CRISC, assistant director of IT at Walmart de Mexico y Centro America (Mexico); Ramses Gallego, CISM, CGEIT, CCSK, CISSP, SCPM, Six Sigma Black Belt, security strategist and evangelist at Dell Software (Spain); Theresa Grafenstine, CISA, CGEIT, CRISC, CIA, CGAP, CGMA, CPA, inspector general of the US House of Representatives (USA); R Vittal Raj, CISA, CISM, CGEIT, CFE, CIA, CISSP, FCA, partner of M/s. Kumar & Raj and director at Pristine Consulting Private Limited (India); Jeff Spivey, CRISC, CPP, president of Security Risk Management Inc. (SRM) and strategy advisor for RiskIQ (USA); and Marc Vael, CISA, CISM, CGEIT, CRISC, CISSP, ITIL, chief audit executive at Smals vzw (Belgium).

Two other directors were appointed to ISACA's board: Christos Dimitriadis, Ph.D., CISA, CISM, CRISC, head of information security for INTRALOT Group (Greece); and Jo Stewart-Rattray, CISA, CISM, CGEIT, CRISC, FACS CP, director of information security and IT assurance at BRM Holdich (Australia).
