Keane Expands Unclaimed Property Consulting Practice with a Compliance Process Improvement Solution

Process management expert Michael R. Wood will help clients analyze and improve IT systems to optimize liability oversight and efficiency

WAYNE, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Keane, the only comprehensive provider of unclaimed property consulting, annual compliance reporting, and communication solutions, announced today that Michael R. Wood, CPA, has joined its National Consulting and Advisory Services team as the firm’s IT & Process Improvement Specialist. In this role, Wood will help clients establish efficient and compliant unclaimed property handling procedures by bridging the data and process management gaps that exist between most IT departments and unclaimed property reporting teams.

Wood’s specialized analysis and suggested workflow updates will empower clients to address unclaimed property reporting and compliance obligations in a systematic and streamlined fashion. Wood will help companies create long-term liability reduction, simplify internal accounting procedures, reinforce dormant account tracking, and support more manageable data handling practices—all of which will help companies reduce costs and improve defensibility in the case of an unclaimed property audit.

Wood has more than 30 years of experience providing clients with time and cost saving solutions through enhanced business process improvement and IT strategy. Wood was one of the founding partners of Andreoli, Johanson and Wood, (AJW) CPAs, focusing extensively on unclaimed property consulting services. He is also credited with forming The Natural Intelligence Group, a company that delivers business process improvement and IT consulting services to the insurance, vehicle valuation, manufacturing, distribution and gaming industries. He is the author of two books (The Helix Factor I & II) which focus on business process improvement as well as more than 100 articles on various management topics focused around improving organizational alignment and long term sustainable growth.

“We’re thrilled to be working with Michael Wood as he brings important, tangible expertise in applying information technology and process optimization in support of unclaimed property reporting and compliance requirements,” says Michael J. O’Donnell, CEO of Keane. “Michael’s industry background, knowledge and experience will help us provide clients with state-of-the-art unclaimed property tracking and management systems that simplify day-to-day liability management and provide accurate, defensible data when an unclaimed property audit arises.”

Wood received his Bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Southern California and subsequently became a CPA. He is a frequent presenter at national conferences, conducts college-level workshops on organizational change management, and maintains his subject matter expert status with www.gantthead.com, the world’s largest IT/project management internet content portal.
