Kanetix releases the raw statistics behind an in-depth study of distracted driving habits in
The study, conducted by Leger Marketing, breaks down bad driving habits and distracted driving by age, sex and region, including texting and talking on cell phones while driving, road rage, and speeding, among other factors. Notably, eight in every ten Canadians admit to having at least one bad driving habit which amounts to approximately 18,750,000 motorists; this includes habits such as: speeding, texting while driving, following too closely, eating, failing to signal, applying makeup, and more.
To coincide with the distracted driving data, Kanetix has launched an investigatory editorial series looking at the study's findings: Confessions of a Canadian driver - In depth. The series contains a qualitative and quantitative approach to the raw data, looking at confessions from specific motorist profiles including:
·The Perfect Driver
·The Speeder
·The Single Driver (and their married counterparts)
·The 100K Club
Further, an infographic of Canadians' bad habits behind the wheel represents the data in engaging, informational, and exciting detail.
Findings from the study show that among Canadian motorists consuming food and/or beverages while operating a vehicle is the most popular bad driving habit, and that the income bracket most likely to admit to these bad habits are those earning 100K + annually.
