Janney Deepens Credit Platform Team with Three Top-Tier Hires

Firm Doubles Credit Platform Team in Past Six Months

PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Janney Capital Markets today announced it has hired three new members to its credit platform. Thirty-year veteran Phil Kazlowski joins as Managing Director and Head of Credit Trading; Jonathan Brook is Director of Institutional Credit Sales; and Anup Goswami joins as Director of Institutional Credit Research. These hires further strengthen a unit which has grown significantly since the beginning of the year, and demonstrate the firm’s commitment to providing continued value to its clients.

Mr. Kazlowski has more than three decades of experience in all aspects of the credit markets with a concentration on high yield. He comes to Janney from Vining Sparks, where he was Head of Credit Trading. Mr. Kazlowski has previously served as Managing Director at JP Morgan and Bear Stearns in the Principal Strategies Group and his sell-side experience includes running several businesses at Citicorp. As Head of Credit Trading, Mr. Kazlowski will report to Kevin Reed, Managing Director of Taxable Fixed Income Trading.

Mr. Brook brings more than 15 years of experience to Janney. Previously, he served as a senior investment professional at CRT Capital Group LLC and Merrill Lynch. He also has managed capital structure portfolios at Amaranth Advisors and Spear, Leeds and Kellogg. Mr. Brook began his career as a bankruptcy attorney before moving into the distressed / high-yield market. He holds a JD from Washington University School of Law and graduated cum laude from Amherst College. In this new position, Mr. Brook will report to Managing Director of Credit Sales, Mike Stiuso.

Mr. Goswami is a research analyst that has covered a variety of industries and all parts of the corporate capital structure. Prior to Janney, he was the senior analyst on the proprietary trading desk at Merrill Lynch. He has held senior investment positions at Royal Bank of Canada and The Clinton Group. He also worked at UBS in the Institutional Investor top-rated High Yield Group form telecommunications and cable/satellites. Mr. Goswami is a Chartered Financial Analyst, holds an MBA from Wake Forest University and a BA from the University of Vermont. In his new role Mr. Goswami, will report to Steve Genyk.
