Guidepost Solutions Makes Key Hires as Investigations, Monitoring and Compliance Work Expands

Carolyn Renzin and Richard Sullivan join as Managing Directors

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Guidepost Solutions announced today the addition of two Managing Directors to its growing Investigations, Monitoring and Compliance practices. Carolyn Renzin and Richard Sullivan will both join Guidepost as Managing Directors. Ms. Renzin has a distinguished background as a lawyer handling complex litigation matters, and Mr. Sullivan has extensive experience in managing investigations in the public sector and in law enforcement.

Carolyn Renzin’s background is in litigation, primarily focusing on white collar defense, complex civil litigation, and securities and regulatory defense and litigation. Prior to joining Guidepost, she was a Member of the law firm Stillman, Friedman & Shechtman P.C., where she specialized in discovery, motion practice, argument, settlement negotiation, trial and sentencing. She previously had worked as a litigation associate at Simpson, Thacher & Bartlett.

Ms. Renzin attended the University of Michigan Law School, where she was an editor of the Michigan Law Review. Upon graduation, she clerked for The Honorable Ronald M. Gould, United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in Seattle, Washington. She has been published in the Michigan Law Review and Law Journal Newsletters. Ms. Renzin is a member of The Association of the Bar of the City of New York, New YorkState Bar Association, and the National Association of Women Lawyers.

Richard Sullivan has worked extensively with the City of New York. Most recently, he served as the Deputy Commissioner for Investigations at the New York City Department of Investigation. In his time there he worked with more than 300 City agencies, entities, boards, and commissions. He oversaw all investigations and referred for prosecution cases of corruption, fraud, mismanagement and unethical behavior within City agencies. He also conducted background investigations on a number of new and promoted city employees and evaluated agency procedures to detect corruption and vulnerabilities and recommend appropriate changes.

Previously Mr. Sullivan worked for the MTA Long Island Railroad and served in the New York City Police Department for 20 years on the Brooklyn North Homicide Squad, on the 81^st Precinct Detective Squad, and as a Patrolman. Mr. Sullivan has received a number of distinguished honors including the Daily News Hero of the Month Award, Brooklyn Borough President’s Award, The Federal Law Enforcement Officers Award, and the U.S. Department of Justice Award for Public Service in multiple districts.

Ms. Renzin and Mr. Sullivan join a seasoned team of managers in Guidepost’s Investigations, Compliance and Monitoring practices. This includes Senior Managing Directors John Gibbons and James Murray, and fellow Managing Director Kenneth Citarella. Ms. Renzin and Mr. Sullivan will report to Tom McShane, President, and will be based in New York City.

Guidepost plans to make additional hires throughout the organization in the remainder of the year.
