Janney Adds Five High-Profile Experts to Fixed Income Team

Firm continues expansion with veteran hires from leading financial institutions

PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Janney today announced the continued expansion of its Capital Markets fixed income team with the addition of five high-profile hires. The new hires, who join Janney from some of the industry’s most notable firms, are veteran salespeople with vast experience across all fixed income products. Specific hires include:

  • Jerel Brager: Director, Institutional Fixed Income Sales/ Towson, MD
  • David Sitzer: Director, Institutional Fixed Income Sales/ Towson, MD
  • Michael Stiuso: Managing Director, Institutional Fixed Income Sales/ NYC
  • Peter Valles: Director, Institutional Fixed Income Sales/ NYC

In addition, Neil Orechiwsky, a 5-year veteran with experience in the bank space, joined the Philadelphia office as a Vice President, and once licensed will be part of the bank sales team.

“As we close 2010, a year that was marked by growth in our Capital Markets business unit across the board, this most recent wave of new talent to join the Firm will continue our momentum into 2011,” said Steve Genyk, Managing Director and Head of Fixed Income at Janney. “In addition to these recent hires, in 2010 the Fixed Income side of the business saw the addition of high-profile traders in Government Agency Bonds and non-Agency MBS, as well as the launch of Janney’s whole-loan initiative.”

Genyk continued, “Deepening our existing footprint, these individuals bring experience and tremendous track records to our growing fixed income department, and are part of our larger story that continues to develop.”

Mr. Brager and Mr. Sitzer, both most recently with M&T Securities, will work from Janney’s Towson, MD office, while Mr. Orechiwsky, of Chatham Financial Corporation, will be based in the Philadelphia headquarters, and both Mr. Valles and Mr. Stiuso, most recently with Sterne, Agee & Leach, Inc. and JVB Financial LLC, respectively, will work from Janney’s Midtown, New York office. All will report to Craig Fertel, Managing Director, Institutional Fixed Income Sales.
