JARYBA Achieves Oracle Validated Integration and Announces Support for Oracle Grid Engine With SmartSuspend v. 2.0

Reno, NV (PRWEB) November 18, 2010

Supercomputing, New Orleans -- Jaryba, LLC, a leading provider of enterprise software for maximizing hardware utilization and software assets in clouds, grids and data centers, has achieved Oracle Validated Integration of Jaryba SmartSuspend version 2.0 with Oracle Grid Engine Release 6.2u6 through the Oracle Partner Network (OPN) program.

Jaryba SmartSuspend enables companies to more efficiently manage high-priority workloads. This is accomplished by using lossless preemptive scheduling, which releases all resources being held by a preempted job, while preserving all of the job’s completed work as well as the value of the resources expended running it up to the point of preemption. This capability also enables the consolidation of interactive and batch jobs.

The integrated solution combining Oracle Grid Engine’s advanced scheduling capabilities and Jaryba SmartSuspend helps enterprises liberate compute and memory resources assigned to less critical workloads for re-allocation to higher priority/more critical workloads, while at the same time providing cost recovery in software investments otherwise tied to the lower priority workloads. With this Oracle Validated Integration, customers can benefit from improved risk management and smoother upgrade capability, which can dramatically lower costs for enterprises with significant investments in engineering and R&D environments.

Together with Oracle Grid Engine, Jaryba SmartSuspend has already been widely deployed across many industries like EDA, Oil and Gas and Life Sciences.

“Jaryba is proud to have achieved Oracle Validated Integration,” says Rick Bayless, COO of Jaryba. “Our combined solution allows companies to get the most out of their existing resources, and to do so without making major changes or investments. Jaryba SmartSuspend has the ability to do just that; to help engineers get more design, projects and jobs through cloud or grid environments in less time without disruption of the infrastructure or operations.”

Jaryba SmartSuspend uses Jaryba's operating system abstraction layer, produces safe, efficient and proper suspension and resumption of applications to run higher priority jobs with no application or OS modifications. SmartSuspend also permits SLA management, ensuring job priority without squandering time and computer cycles or forfeiting completion times.</p>

"Oracle Validated Integration applies a rigorous technical review and test process that ensures that our partner products like Jaryba SmartSuspend have been validated and work together as designed with Oracle's products," said Kevin O'Brien, senior director, ISV and SaaS Strategy, Oracle.

Jaryba is a Gold Partner in the Oracle Partner Network.
