Insurance agent indicted for fraud [The Sentinel Echo, London, Ky.]

Sept. 27--LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. -- An insurance fraud scheme was nipped in the bud with the indictment of an agent who wrote false claims.

Christopher Good, 24, was indicted Friday in a 27-count indictment in which he is charged with fraudulent insurance acts totaling over $500. Good reportedly submitted insurance applications for 26 different people that, according to the indictment, "contained false, incomplete or misleading information regarding a factor thing material to the application."

The indictment lists 26 charges of second-degree forgery in which Good allegedly signed the names of the 26 persons named in the insurance applications. These acts reportedly occurred between Nov. 2, 2010 through January 5, 2011.

According to the indictment, Good submitted six applications between Nov. 2 and Nov. 9, and another application between Nov. 2 and Nov. 5. He submitted one application on successive days between Dec. 21 and Dec. 24 and 13 more on Dec. 31. The last fraudulent application was submitted on Jan. 5, 2011.

Good was reportedly an agent with American Family Life Assurance Company of Columbus (Aflac).

Good is now scheduled for a pretrial hearing in Laurel Circuit Court on Oct. 22. His bond was set at $10,000 cash or $20,000 in property.
