Insurance Auto Auctions Relocates to Gorham, Maine Facility

Strategic expansion continues with facilities that offer larger capacity and convenience

WESTCHESTER, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Insurance Auto Auctions, Inc. (IAA) the leading live and live-online salvage auto auction company and wholly-owned subsidiary of KAR Auction Services, Inc. (NYSE: KAR), today announced the relocation of it’s Saco, Maine facility to a larger facility in Gorham, Maine. This relocation more than doubles IAA’s capacity in this region and demonstrates the company’s strategic vision of growth and expansion with it’s industry leading North American footprint.

“IAA will continue to evaluate opportunities to open and acquire new sites in selected markets in order to effectively leverage our sales and marketing capabilities and expand our geographic presence,” said Tom O’Brien, chief executive officer at IAA. “As we relocate from our Saco, Maine facility to our new Gorham, Maine auction facility, customers can expect the same great service and additional capacity to service Portland and the surrounding communities.”

IAA’s mature global buyer base, which consists of automotive body shops, rebuilders, used car dealers, automotive wholesalers, exporters, dismantlers, recyclers, brokers, and where allowed, non-licensed (public) buyers, now have even more choices when it comes to the number of salvage vehicles to bid on and buy.
