Health Insurance Provider Gives Free Humana Prescription Cards to Uninsured

PR Web

Chicago, Illinois (PRWEB) August 18, 2012

Health insurance provider, ICan Smart Insurance, is a leading provider for discount health insurance premiums. In an effort to aid the 50 million uninsured Americans, a free Humana prescription card is offered to any person in the 50 U.S. states. This free card is backed with the medical discount power of Humana and is designed to instantly save someone without insurance from paying high costs to obtain medicine and other necessities that are normally provided to the insured. A free and no obligation consultation is provided after issuance of the card when an uninsured person calls the main ICan office toll free at 1-888-626-9212.

The health insurance industry has grown steadily in the past 20 years and along with this growth has been rising premium costs. The average American family could afford full coverage in 1992 compared with less than 25 percent of families in 2012. The economic uncertainty that many are struggling with is just one factor in the lack of health insurance coverage. Premiums have skyrocketed to as much as $1500 a month depending on past medical histories and types of illnesses that are covered in a policy.

Government assistance programs like Medicare and Medicaid are not available to every person that applies. Strict guidelines are put in place to ensure that only the people that are deemed eligible after review will get complete access to the program benefits. For working families of one or two spouses, this type of insurance coverage might not be available. The ICan Insurance Agency is putting forth an effort to reach out to the uninsured population by giving away their free Humana prescription card. This card can be used at nearly all pharmacies in the U.S..

A person or family without insurance could witness substantial savings by using this card compared with paying full retail price for medications. The savings include x-rays, doctor visits, prescriptions, accidents and dental coverage.

Children and the elderly are two of the target demographics that are most susceptible to illness and injuries. Children that attend schools or daycare centers are always at a higher risk of developing colds, flu or other conditions that are frequently passed around from child to child. A family without medical coverage could end up paying a large sum of money to a family doctor or hospital for treating the illness of a child.

The vast network of insurers that are in the ICan Insurance database are all reviewed based on several factors. The cost of insurance is always a deciding factor and ICan has built a reputation for finding reasonable insurance rates for both individuals and for families. Insurance brokers and agents that earn a commission from the sale of insurance can sometimes bulk up a quoted policy with inclusions that not every person needs. The ICan specialists walk every person through a policy and explain what may or may not be needed to help someone get the best deal on health insurance.

A person or family without insurance that could benefit from obtaining a free Humana prescription card can get one by calling ICan Insurance toll free at 1-888-626-9212 or by visiting the Humana prescription card link at the ICan website.
