Gloucester Police/Fire: Woman charged in domestic assault case

March 26--A domestic dispute Monday afternoon led to a Gloucester woman being charged with assault and battery.

Police arrested Krystle M. Mitchell, 29, of 93 Maplewood Ave., Apt. 2 following an alleged verbal and physical altercation with a female family member.

The police report stated that the situation escalated after the family member allegedly referred to Mitchell's boyfriend, using a racial profanity, and then ripped Mitchell's shirt. Mitchell then allegedly punched the victim in the face. According to the police report, officers determined Mitchell to be the "dominant aggressor" in the situation. She was transported to the Gloucester police station, and held awaiting bail.

A motor vehicle stop on Route 128 north led to a pair of traffic charges for a Gloucester man.

Thomas J. Testaverde, 29, of 222 Magnolia Ave. was charged with negligent operation of a motor vehicle in addition to a charge of speeding.

According to police, Testaverde was traveling alongside another vehicle on the highway at 90 miles per hour, though the posted speed limit was 55.

A Gloucester man walked into the police station to report his license plate was missing. He said he already contacted his insurance company.
