Experienced Industry Executives Join the Real Estate Finance Group In Kansas and New York City

PR Web

New York City (PRWEB) August 31, 2012

The Real Estate Finance Group, with offices in Los Angeles, Kansas and New York City, today announced three new members to its team. Jim Genis of Opal Sea Capital, a nationwide commercial real estate bridge lender to provide client services in the U.S. Midwest Region, Jonathan Kane, a financial services professional, with a background in property and casualty insurance as well as real estate in the New York area and Ken Stevenson of Brownstone Capital Group, LLC, a New Jersey-based commercial real estate firm that provides lending services to clients nationwide.

Brownstone Capital, led by Wall Street veteran, Ken Stevenson, a former Vice President and originator at Lehman Brothers, will lead the charge for CMBS originations for The Real Estate Finance Group. Mr. Stevenson’s background also includes stints at Standard & Poor’s, SunTrust Bank and The Vanguard Group; he holds a M.S. in Real Estate/Urban Planning from MIT.

Adam Petriella, founder of The Real Estate Finance Group, said, “I am extremely happy to have Ken representing The Real Estate Finance Group because he will help fortify our efforts in gaining a national presence in the CMBS market. With Ken’s expertise and experience in capital markets, we will certainly be much better equipped to grow with the burgeoning new market trends as we enter into this next phase of commercial lending”. Mr. Stevenson added that, “by joining The Real Estate Finance Group our clients will now have access to a much wider array of products, including recourse and non-recourse loan, private equity and specialty finance options alike. Saying that we’re excited about joining Adam’s team is simply an under-statement. I think our clients will be better served and absolutely thrilled with having more options on the menu”.

Jonathan Kane, will join the New York office of The Real Estate Finance Group. Adam Petriella, founder of The Real Estate Finance Group, said, “I am very excited to have Jonathan representing The Real Estate Finance Group out of our New York office. With a finger on the pulse of the New York real estate market, a background in insurance, and a current focus on national retail lenders, Jonathan will be able to create significant value for our clients.”
Kane added, “My background in real estate at a Family Office and my experience in the Commercial Insurance Business is a perfect complement to the extensive financing services offered through The Real Estate Finance Group. I’m excited to be part of a team that can provide significant value to a client’s portfolio with a long term, big picture perspective. I am looking forward to working with Adam and his team.

Opal Sea Capital, founded by Jim Genis, will relocate offices to Kansas City to initiate Midwest Region coverage and become part of The Real Estate Finance Group. Adam Petriella, founder of The Real Estate Finance Group, said, “I am especially happy to have Jim representing The Real Estate Finance Group in the Midwest because Los Angeles and New York investors own properties in Jim’s backyard. With actual ‘boots on the ground’ in the Midwest, we can confidently display our knowledge of the area and likewise, expose our New York City-based money center bankers and CMBS contacts to properties Jim will be working on.” Mr. Genis added, “The Bridge lending expertise of Opal Sea Capital is a perfect complement to the extensive financing services offered through The Real Estate Finance Group. Our Kansas City office is centrally located to all Midwest centers for commercial real estate and ensures coast-to-coast coverage. We’re excited to join Adam’s team and look forward to providing a full portfolio of financing to all of our clients.”
Existing clients of Opal Sea Capital will experience no interruption in services and the transition is effective immediately.

Through its network of national and regional lenders, The Real Estate Finance Group provides financing for stabilized assets, new acquisitions and turn around opportunities for entrepreneurial owners, families and partnerships. Assets funded include multi-family and net-lease properties.
