Dickinson Wright Attorney Edward Perdue Elected Central Regional Director for DRI

Dickinson Wright PLLC is pleased to announce that Attorney Edward P. Perdue has been elected Central Regional Director for the Defense Research Institute ("DRI").

DRI is the nation's leading organization of defense attorneys and in-house counsel. Membership in DRI provides access to resources and tools for attorneys who strive to provide high-quality, balanced and excellent service to their clients and corporations. DRI is host to 30 substantive committees whose focus is to develop ongoing and critical dialogue about areas of practice. DRI has served the defense bar for more than 50 years and focuses on five main goals: Education, Justice, Balance, Economics and Professionalism.

Mr. Perdue's three-year term will begin at the conclusion of the 2014 DRI Annual Meeting in October. Mr. Perdue is a Member in Dickinson Wright's Grand Rapids office where he focuses his practice on the areas of commercial & business litigation, automotive litigation, class actions, insurance & ERISA litigation, and real estate. He has defended a wide and varied array of defense actions in medical, ERISA, automotive, industrial and railroad contexts.

Mr. Perdue is a former decorated Marine Corps officer who served with distinction in the Persian Gulf War. He is the Founder and Acting President of the Grand Rapids Veterans Bar Association and the DRI's Veterans Network. He is also a former elected member of the Grand Rapids Bar Association Board of Trustees and serves as the State of Michigan DRI Representative to the Michigan Defense Trial Counsel. Mr. Perdue received his B.A. from Villanova University and his J.D. from the University of Notre Dame Law School.
