Detica Receives “Outstanding” Rating for Product Viability

MCLEAN, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Detica today announced that its NetReveal solution was reviewed by Gartner, Inc. in its October 2010 “Enterprise Fraud and Misuse Management Solutions: 2010 Critical Capabilities” report.

Gartner defines Enterprise Fraud Management (EFM) as software that supports the detection, analysis and management of fraud across users, accounts, products, processes and channels. These solutions monitor and analyze user activity and behavior at the application level, as opposed to the system, database or network level, and watch what transpires inside and across accounts using any channel available to a user. EFM solutions also analyze behavior among related users, accounts or other entities, looking for organized criminal activity, fraud rings, corruption or misuse.

According to Gartner, Enterprise Fraud Management can be deployed to support various use cases, notably customer account takeover; internal fraud or misuse, organized crime and fraud rings; or a comprehensive EFM deployment that provides support for multiple use cases. Gartner evaluated nine vendor products that support EFM based on a set of critical capabilities across these use cases, including:

  • “Canned” intelligence and analytics
  • Business user interface for alert and policy management
  • Deployment and support simplicity
  • Channel -and product-specific coverage Entity link analysis
  • Real-time transaction support

The report found that users today require EFM solutions that manage and prevent fraud or unauthorized activities across different enterprise silos and systems. This promises to catch more fraud and increase organizational productivity by enabling fraud analysts to use the same fraud management tools across modules.
