Dane Street Receives Independent Review Organization URAC Accreditation
PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Dane Street today announced that it has received full accreditation as an Independent Review Organization (IRO) from URAC, a Washington, D.C.-based healthcare accrediting organization that establishes quality standards for the health care industry.
"Dane Street is honored to receive Accreditation from URAC. This recognition underscores the quality of our work by demonstrating full compliance with national standards for UR services,” said Will Fulton, CEO of Dane Street. “I would like to congratulate the entire Dane Street team for its efforts, and for the consistent achievement of providing outstanding turnaround times, report quality and customer service to our clients.”
URAC standards assure that organizations are free from conflicts of interest, establish qualifications for physician reviewers, address medical necessity and experimental treatment issues. Reasonable time periods are provided for standards and expedited reviews and appeals processes. The National Association of Independent Review Organizations has issued a position statement urging state and federal recognition of the URAC standard to promote consistency and fairness for both patients and employers.
"We applaud Dane Street on achieving URAC Independent Review Organization accreditation," said Alan P. Spielman, URAC President and CEO. "In today's health care market, URAC accreditation provides a mark of distinction for organizations to demonstrate commitment to quality health care."
