Coventry Health Care Expanding Medicare Advantage Service Area [Manufacturing Close – Up]

Coventry Health Care announced the expansion of its Medicare Advantage service area to 26 counties across Louisiana and West Virginia and in 48 additional counties in 16 other states for 2014.

"This expansion marks Coventry's commitment to provide Medicare beneficiaries with more benefit options and greater provider choice," said Armando Luna, vice president, Medicare Marketing and Sales for Coventry Health Care, in a release. "We are excited about the opportunity to offer more beneficiaries access to convenient, quality health care at prices they can afford."

For the upcoming 2014 annual enrollment period, Coventry Medicare Advantage plans will be available to seniors in 26 counties across Louisiana and West Virginia and in additional counties throughout Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, North Carolina, Missouri, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Texas, Utah and Wyoming.

Medicare beneficiaries can enroll in Coventry's 2014 plans during the annual enrollment period, which ends Dec. 7.

Coventry expanded to:

-Florida: two counties - Duval, Marion

-Illinois: 14 counties - Bureau, Cass, Christian, DeKalb, DeWitt, Kendall, Lee, Macon, Mason, Menard, Morgan, Pike, Scott, Shelby

-Iowa: 12 counties - Adair, Greene, Guthrie, Hamilton, Ida, Keokuk, Marshall, Ringgold, Story, Union, Wayne, Webster

-Louisiana: four counties - Ascension, East Baton Rouge, Jefferson, Orleans

-Missouri: eight counties - Cooper, Howard, Knox, Perry, Pike, Randolph, Shelby, Ste. Genevieve

-Ohio: five counties - Belmont, Harrison, Jefferson, Lake, Medina

-Oklahoma: two counties - Canadian, Tulsa

-Pennsylvania: five counties - Blair, Huntingdon, Indiana, Jefferson, Venango

-West Virginia: 22 counties - Boone, Brooke, Cabell, Clay, Hancock, Harrison, Jackson, Kanawha, Lewis, Lincoln, Marion, Marshall, Mason, Monongalia, Ohio, Preston, Putnam, Taylor, Wayne, Wetzel, Wirt, Wood
