Commissioner Goodwin Meets with Life and Health Agent Advisory Committee

RALEIGH, N.C., Jan. 31 -- The North Carolina Department of Insurance issued the following news release:

Insurance Commissioner Wayne Goodwin today announced the members of the newly formed Life and Health Agent Advisory Committee (L& AAC) as the group held its first meeting in Raleigh.

The purpose of the new agent advisory committee is to provide the Commissioner of Insurance and the agent community with opportunities to work together on life and health insurance industry issues related to agents and consumers in the state of North Carolina.

"I cannot stress how important it is for me and the insurance agent community of North Carolina to work cooperatively for the benefit of all citizens," Goodwin said. "This opportunity for open dialogue is extremely beneficial, and I look forward to working with this exceptional group of professionals in 2012."

The 26 committee members are independent and captive agents and insurance experts selected from three regions - East, Piedmont and West - who are appointed by the Commissioner of Insurance. The new committee is scheduled to meet four times a year.

While this is the inaugural year for this particular committee, Commissioner Goodwin established the Property and Casualty Agent Advisory Committee in 2009.
