The
FEDVIP was implemented in late 2006 to provide comprehensive dental and vision insurance products to the Federal population. FEDVIP currently has over 2 million enrollments and covers over 3 million lives.
OPM is accepting proposals that meet the requirements set forth in the application. OPM will entertain proposals for at risk and discount dental and vision products. This is an unrestricted competition for dental and/or vision insurance carriers or consortiums of carriers to submit proposals to enter into contracts to offer group dental and/or vision benefits to Federal government employees, annuitants, and their eligible dependents.
We will select up to ten (10) dental and up to four (4) vision plans. We are limiting the number of contracts that will be awarded to support the viability of the Plans and integrity of the program.
The principal objective of this application is to provide comprehensive, accessible and competitively priced dental and vision services.
Selected applicants will provide service under fixed price contracts, with prospective price redetermination. OPM will contract with the applicants whose proposals offer the greatest overall value to Federal employees, annuitants and their dependents. The selection of applicants will be determined by evaluation in accordance with the established evaluation criteria, considering cost, plan design and other factors.
All responsible sources may submit a proposal, which we will consider.

All Federal benefit programs are administered in accordance with Federal law and implementing regulations. The successful applicants must be intimately familiar with the FEDVIP law and regulation to ensure it is in compliance.
