Clean-Slate Janitorial Services, Toronto’s Leading Commercial and Retail Cleaner, Comments on Declining Work-Related Injuries in Ontario

PR Web

(PRWEB) September 15, 2014

Clean-Slate Janitorial Services (http://www.Clean-Slate.ca), a Greater Toronto Area-based professional cleaning company that specializes in commercial office cleaning, retail maintenance, floor restoration, carpet cleaning, and construction site cleanup, is weighing in on recent Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) statistics claiming that work-related injuries in Ontario are on the decline.

The WSIB has released statistics showing a sharp decline in time lost to work-related injuries. These stats have led to a second straight year in which employer premiums have been frozen. The rate of work-related accidents has dropped by approximately 20,000 incidents since 2008, from roughly 62,000 to about 41,000 in 2013. (Source: Artuso, A., "Workplace injuries on the decline across Ontario: WSIB stats," The Toronto Sun, September 6, 2014; http://www.torontosun.com/2014/09/06/work-related-injuries-on-decline-in-ontario-wsib-stats.)

"We've practiced safety in all our time-proven commercial cleaning services in Toronto," says Sam Panousis, owner and operator of Clean-Slate Janitorial Services. "We can only assume that other office cleaning companies across Ontario are taking precautions and doing their part to prevent accidents in the office."

Panousis notes that the improvement has really been impressive. Ideally, there would never be any work-related accidents, but office cleaning companies understand the role they play and can only continue finding ways to improve and reduce that number as much as possible.

"We at Clean-Slate also acknowledge there are definitely other factors contributing to the reduction in accidents, including increased safety awareness by groups like WSIB and the Ministry of Labour," Panousis concludes. "It's a collaborative effort that has to start with high safety standards and increased awareness. Several groups have made strong efforts on both fronts and it's trickled down to office cleaning companies following their lead to see these improvements."

Clean-Slate Janitorial Services has been serving commercial customers in the Greater Toronto Area, including downtown Toronto, Vaughan, Mississauga, Brampton, and Markham, for eight years. Services provided by Clean-Slate Janitorial Services include commercial office cleaning, retail management and janitorial services, floor restoration and buffing, carpet cleaning, window and blind cleaning, and construction site cleanup.
