Nov. 27--People in business

--Stacy Frost has been hired as a senior engineer for Maul Foster & Alongi Inc. at the Vancouver office of the civil engineering and design firm which also operates in Portland, Seattle and Bellingham. Frost formerly worked for HDJ Design Group, an engineering, planning and landscape-architecture firm based in Vancouver.

--Clark County resident Jaymin Jackson has been hired by insurance firm Montgomery & Graham in Lake Oswego, Ore., and will work for the company's insurance sales and service division. A 2006 graduate of Columbia River High School, Jackson earned his bachelor's degree in business from Linfield College in McMinnville, Ore.

--Steve Abels is the new donor resource supervisor for American Red Cross Blood Services in Southwest Washington. In his new position, he will be responsible for the logistics involved in meeting the demand for blood products. Abels has 28 years of experience working as a vocational career instructor and counselor. He will work out of the Clark County Blood Donor Center near Westfield Vancouver mall.

--The International Air & Hospitality Academy and its subsidiary, Northwest Renewable Energy Institute, recently promoted three employees to its management team. Pam Richman is the school's new director of career development. She previously was a career development specialist. Richman will remain active in training and coaching students and graduates. Tim Simon will take charge of the school's day-to-day operations and manage career development for the school's airline program. Kathy Johnson, a 1997 graduate of the academy, has worked at the school since 2009 and is the new manager of career development at NW-REI.

--Vic Oenning, general manager of Corwin Beverage Company, has been promoted to senior vice president, sales and operations. Sales manager John Hartney has been promoted to vice president, sales. Oenning, a Brush Prairie resident, has been general manager of Corwin since 1996. He was awarded the President's Ring of Honor for top performance by PepsiCo in 2006. Hartney, previously a district manager at Frito Lay, has been sales manager for Corwin since 2006.

--Lynn Burditt will take over as Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area manager in early January. Burditt has been assistant director of Region 6 Resource Planning and Monitoring Group since April 2011. She has worked for the Forest Service for more than 30 years in a variety of positions in Minnesota, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington, California and North Carolina. She has bachelor's degrees in outdoor recreation resource management and forest management and master's degrees in forestry and conflict resolution.
