CNA Select Risk Announces Investments in Its Property Unit
CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- CNA Select Risk – which includes Excess & Surplus (E&S) business, as well as Wholesale Property accounts – announces expansions in its Property unit. Select Risk Property has broadened its surplus lines appetite and increased staff, enabling the unit to write a broad range of non-catastrophe (non-CAT) business and entertain a wide range of occupancy classes.
Select Risk Property non-CAT business includes unprotected properties, properties with limited public protection, vacant buildings and risks with a history of losses. Its occupancy classes include light manufacturing, real estate, hotel/motel, public entity and builders’ risks. Through a specialist managing general underwriter, the unit also recently added a new program to fit the specific needs of woodworkers.
In addition, the Select Risk Property team has been expanded to include more underwriters and support staff with extensive property surplus lines expertise to handle a larger range of business opportunities. Surplus lines underwriting capabilities have been added in Chicago and Atlanta, and soon, the Northeast.
“Our new staff has specific expertise in E&S Property risks, which will allow this unit to write more business quickly and effectively,” said John Angerami, senior vice president, CNA Select Risk. “We remain dedicated to our wholesale producers, and know that our broad appetite, underwriting expertise and flexibility will make the Property unit a great partner to handle new E&S Property risks.”
