COLUMBUS, Ohio, Jan. 7, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The law firm of Bricker & Eckler recently elected C. Christopher Bennington, Jennifer Nelson Carney, Anthony Sharett and Todd Reutzel partners of the firm. 

C. CHRISTOPHER BENNINGTONis a partner in the firm's Health Care group and his practice emphasizes the representation of managed care organizations and hospitals on matters involving fraud and abuse, privacy, regulatory compliance, corporate governance, Medicaid managed care, and managed care contracting. Chris also regularly provides general counsel services to the firm's health care clients.

Chris provides on-site training to clients and presents at health care law forums across Ohio on a wide assortment of regulatory and compliance matters, such as Ohio medical record privacy laws, Medicaid RAC audits, HIPAA Privacy and Security regulatory developments, and the HITECH Act.

Chris serves as counsel to managed care organizations and hospitals before federal and Ohio regulatory agencies, including U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (Administrative Law Judges) and the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. He also represents health care clients with regard to government investigations and federal False Claims Act qui tam actions.

A member of both the American and Dayton Bar Association, Chris works in the firm's Cinncinati/Dayton office. Ohio Super Lawyers recognized him as a "Rising Star."

A member of Bricker's Health Care group,JENNIFER NELSON CARNEY'Spractice focuses on the day-to-day operations of a variety of health care facilities, as well as those facilities' dealings with administrative agencies. She advises clients on medical staff and credentialing matters, peer review issues, patient care matters, physician contracting, and federal and state regulatory issues including Medicare and Medicaid provider enrollment issues.

Jennifer is a member of the Society of Ohio Healthcare Attorneys and the American Health Lawyers Association. She is also a trustee of the Clintonville Beechwold Community Resources Center Board. She is a member of both the Columbus Bar Associations Health Care Law and Admissions committees and was also an Ohio State Bar Foundation Fellow. TODD REUTZELis a partner in Bricker's Real Estate group with an emphasis on negotiating retail/restaurant, office and industrial commercial lease transactions, representing both landlords and tenants, and negotiating purchase and sale agreements on behalf of both private and public entities. He has served as developer's counsel in connection with the negotiation of numerous retail shopping centers and restaurant leases with national and regional tenants, and Todd has recently represented tenants in lease transactions for a multi-story restaurant/bar and a large-scale build-to-suit office building. Todd recently served as seller's counsel with respect to the sale of a number of properties conveyed out of receivership and has served as buyer's counsel for numerous commercial real estate acquisitions. Todd also represents school districts and other public entities in connection with a broad range of real estate transactions.

He has successfully argued in several Ohio appellate courts to uphold fees that nonbank lenders may lawfully charge customers, and has successfully first-chaired litigation concerning contested foreclosure matters for lending institutions in state and federal courts. He represents clients in business torts, restrictive covenants, insurance coverage issues, breach of contract claims, real property disputes, construction disputes and represents franchisors and franchisees involving business tort disputes. He spent more than three years as an attorney with the Ohio Department of Commerce where he regulated the banking, mortgage and credit union industries.

Committed to stewardship within his community and profession, Anthony currently serves as a board member of the Greater Cincinnati Minority Counsel Program and is a National Council Member for The Ohio State University's Moritz College of Law. He is president of Board of Trustees of HandsOnCentral Ohio and is a member of Franklin American Inn of Court, the Columbus Early Learning Centers Board of Trustees and United Way of Central Ohio's Income Impact Council.
