AssureStart Names Sheryl Medeiros as General Counsel

AssureStart has appointed Sheryl Medeiros as general counsel.

AssureStart sells business property and general liability insurance to small businesses on the Internet.

In her new role, Medeiros will oversee all company legal, regulatory and compliance matters. She also will participate on AssureStart's business development team.

Medeiros previously was executive vice president at United Guaranty Corp. (UGC), where she played a key role in the turnaround of the company's mortgage insurance business from 2009-2013. During that time, Medeiros served as general counsel, with responsibility for UGC's global legal, regulatory, compliance and government affairs functions, and chief executive officer of UGC's international business. Before joining UGC, she served as vice president of Commercial Claims and senior counsel at Safeco Insurance.
