US insurance broker Arthur J. Gallagher & Co (NYSE:AJG) said yesterday it has bought retail insurance broker Bowen, Miclette, Britt & Merry of Arkansas Inc for an undisclosed sum.
The business was sold by Houston-based Bowen, Miclette & Britt Insurance Agency LLC and manager Philip H. Merry, Jr.
The takeover will expand Arthur J. Gallagher's positions in the southeastern parts of USA, the company said.
Bowen, Miclette, Britt & Merry of Arkansas has operations in Arkansas and Oklahoma. It offers risk management and insurance products in the healthcare, manufacturing, retail and poultry processing industries.
