Archer Technologies Expands Policy Management Solution
OVERLAND PARK, KS - October 31 - Archer Technologies (Archer), a leader in enterprise risk and compliance management solutions, today announced the availability of the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standard 1.1 and Control Objectives for Information and related Technology (CobiT) 4.0 which have been mapped within the Archer Policy Management solution. Archer's extensive industry reference library, which includes core standards such as Basel Risk Management Principles for Electronic Banking, FFIEC, CobiT 3.0, HIPAA, ISO/IEC 17799 and others, provides customers with one of the most comprehensive policy mapping systems in the industry. The integration of PCI 1.1 and CobiT 4.0 to this library will further empower companies to demonstrate regulatory due diligence in a centralized, comprehensive and repeatable manner.
"In order to deliver on our organization-wide commitment to higher standards in our compliance initiatives, it is critical to have a thorough understanding of the most current control standard environment," said Scott Wiggins, Senior Vice President of Information Security and Business Continuity Policy Manager for Bank of America. "The addition of PCI 1.1 and CobiT 4.0 requirements to the Archer Policy Management solution will give us an even more comprehensive tool to effectively manage standards and regulations as we continue to actively pursue the highest level of compliance in our organization and for our customers."
Recognized in a recent survey by The InfoPro as the number one in-plan solution for compliance reporting for Fortune 1000s, Archer Policy Management facilitates the design, communication and management of security policies and compliance processes. With Archer, organizations can create and publish security, IT and organizational policies, standards and procedures through a Web-based dashboard, enabling the consistent education and training of employees. As a result, they are able to better track overall compliance, policy exceptions and violations.
"Enterprises today are under increasing scrutiny from regulators, business partners and the public," stated Andrew Jaquith, security research Program Manager for Yankee Group. "The largest companies are finding that their IT environments are in a state of perpetual audit. But for most companies, band- aids like spreadsheets and word processing documents are still the dominant means of tracking compliance. Our research shows that companies need automated tools to automate their audit, assessment and remediation processes; products like Archer's can help."
PCI 1.1 provides for the protection of payment card information and the reduction of risk arising from wrongful disclosure of account and transaction data. CobiT 4.0 is an IT governance framework and supporting toolset that allows organizations to bridge the gap between control requirements, technical issues and business risks. The integration of PCI 1.1 and CobiT 4.0 into the Archer Policy Management solution allows organizations to establish greater control over their overall governance strategy and demonstrate compliance with the requirements identified in the PCI and CobiT standards.
"As industry standards and regulatory demands evolve, we are committed to expanding our solutions to meet our customers' changing needs," said Jon Darbyshire, president and CEO of Archer Technologies. "By adding PCI 1.1 and CobiT 4.0 to our Policy Management solution, we provide the most comprehensive policy solution for our customers to effectively execute their enterprise risk and governance strategy as well as enable them to better demonstrate compliance."
